More 101 Added!

While I was watching the Oscars last night I realized that there weren't going to be very many surprises (except for James Franco in a dress) so I decided to work on my list. It's getting really difficult to reach 101!!!  I am finally up to 65 and still racking my brain to come up with the rest. I have decided that even though my list is not complete, I am going to start my countdown as of yesterday. Day 1, therefore, is February 27, 2011.
Over the next few days I am going to explain why I added what I added. I'm sure as you're reading the list some of the items on there are making you say, "Why the heck is she putting THAT on there?" Some of them are probably pretty obvious. But let me break down the first 20 for you:

1. Go to Hawaii: My little sister and I watch Hawaii Five-O every week and Off the Map. Both shows are filmed in Hawaii and every week we say "I want to go there!" So I thought, what the heck, why not? Maybe if I start saving I can put it towards a trip. I have 1001 days....
2. Take a train ride with a sleeper car: Ever since I saw the sleeper cars at the Amtrak station in Alexandria and I realized they look like the cars in Harry Potter I thought it would be interesting to travel far enough that I would need a sleeper car.
3. Go on an audition: I haven't done any acting really since I moved back to Rochester. I'm hoping to at least go on an audition and see if I've lost any skills.
4. Make out with a cast member from Glee;): This is the one that in all likeliness will not happen. But if I do everything else I'm pretty good, right? Besides, I figure you never know what can happen in 1001 days....
5. Finish Brodie's stocking cross stitch: I started this shortly after I moved in with my sister and have barely worked on it. It was supposed to be done by this past Christmas.
6. Start and finish Jax's stocking cross stitch: See above
7. Go to Cafe du Monde for a beignet and cafe au lait: This was one thing I really wanted to do last November when I went to NOLA and never got to do.
8. Move out of Siobhan's: Not that I don't love her, but I need my own place.
9. Start and keep up with an exercise routine: I start with good intentions and never finish. I want to keep my body toned and healthy. I'm not getting any younger....
10. Buy a Kindle: Ever since Kellie talked it up I've wanted one.
11. Find a reason to dress up other than a wedding: I have to wear a uniform of sorts to work and in my down time I dress really casual. I dress nicer for church, but I want an excuse to wear a pretty dress and pair of heels.
12. Own a pair of designer shoes: Christian Loubotin's. Blahnik's. Jimmy Choo's. Sigh.......
13. Get my license: It's way past time I learned to drive.
14. Go on a date: I don't date often. Or at all.
15. Perform at karaoke: I love karaoke but get too scared to go up and sing. I need to just say "Screw it, if I suck I suck" and go for it!
16. See a show at Geva: One of the things I say every year I want to do and never get around to doing it.
17. See a show at the Auditorium Center: See above.
18. See a Broadway show: Despite my love of theatre and my theatre training I have never seen a show on Broadway. That's a shame.
19. Go on a haunted hayride: I tried this a few years ago and we got as far as the line.
20. Take a shot of whiskey: I listen to country music. Shots of whiskey are mentioned all over the place and I've never had one. I should.

I think some of these are out of order, but you get the idea. Wish me luck and keep tuned in for the remainder of my list and more explanations!

And So It Begins....

I was hanging out with my friends Katie and Kellie tonight and they started talking about their "101." I gave them a funny look and asked them what the hell they were talking about. They went on to explain that they each have a list of 101 things to do in 1001 days. As they continued rattling off items that they had on their lists, stuff they had already done and the stuff they wanted to do, I almost tuned them out because something clicked in my brain. I had been feeling kind of listless, like I was drifting through my life. I couldn't seem to come up with any goals, any dreams like when I was younger. Now all of a sudden I could come up with a list of goals. Some would be easily attainable. Some would not. But now I would have stuff to do!!!
According to K Squared I should make most of the items realistic. But I hope to put a few bigger goals on there so I have something to aim for.
I came home, already mentally writing the list, and checked Katie's Blog to get inspiration. This is a lot harder than I first thought. I started writing my list and am only about a quarter of the way through. Unfortunately I keep coming up with wildly out there and/or expensive items so I'm trying to tone down a bit. I'm afraid if I have too many BIG things I'll get disappointed and give up before 10 days.
I'm open to ideas, whether from myself, my friends, or the universe. I am also open to anyone who wants to help me fulfill any of these. I hope this will be fun. I will let you know.

I'm going to work on my list and once I have at least 50 items I will post it. Stay tuned!!!!!
