If you can't tell from the picture, the Amerks are Rochester's AHL Hockey Team. I've been to their games many times before, but every year I tell myself I'm going to go to a game of every sports team we have and I never do. So I kind of cheated and put down an Amerks game since I figured I had a pretty good shot of going to a game seeing as how everyone in my family is a hockey fan and my nephew Luch plays for the Amerks Midget team and has been known to play between periods. So today after church when my mom told me it was the last game of the season and her and her fiance were going I mentioned that going to a game was one of the items on my list. She invited me along and I was very excited to check one item off my list.
The game was, to be honest, pretty boring for most of it. The team is not that great this year and despite a strong start and ending the first period with a 1-1 tie, the Lake Erie Monsters managed to pull ahead and for almost the entire rest of the game they were winning. Then the Amerks rallied to tie it 4-4 and go in to overtime. One overtime period and seven shooters from each team later, Erie won. But I had fun, it was nice spending time with my mom, and I got to check another item off my list. I'm on a roll!!
